Why?

One thing that has always been amazing to me is how people can create bad food to sell. I mean, we've all had our disasters in the kitchen at home, but for a person who ostensibly makes their living preparing food, the question has to be asked 'What were you thinking?'

You can understand it for plastic toys and cheap t-shirts, but food is such an essential, even spiritual part of life, that the mangling of it makes me rage in a way no other bad product or service ever can.

On the other hand, when you eat great food, delicious food, nutritious food, it makes you turn your eyes skywards and thank the creator for the invention of money that made this kind of specialisation possible.

This blog is for both kinds of experiences. If you see an establishment reviewed here, it is either because it's great or it sucks. Mediocre experiences are their own punishment, I'm not going to waste time writing about them. They will get their own 1 line entry: Mediocre.

One last thing, you are sure to disagree with something I write here. Maybe you had a shocker at a place I rave about, or maybe I raged and spat bile at one of your faves. By all means disagree, if you are passionate and eloquent in your defense, I may even give them another try, but be aware that doing so may only reinforce my opinion ... or not ... it could be that I went there at the wrong time, when the chef was sick, the water main broke or any number of things that can go wrong in the life of a food establishment. May be.
